Why does Luz Candles exist?
Luz Candles began as a heartfelt form of therapy for its creator, Luz, during a time of profound grief following the loss of her father in 2023.
Candle-making became her sanctuary—a gentle daily ritual that offered moments of peace and gradually brought her renewed joy and hope. As Luz continued her daily day-by-day life, one day stands out.
While she was working in a company, she was suddenly tried to craft some candles for the Mexican tradition of “Day of the Death” where she wanted to create something special for her father.
This vivid recollection warmed her spirit, reminding Luz of the love and guidance that had shaped her life, and inspired her to infuse each candle with that sense of connection and comfort.
Moved by the renovating she experienced, Luz began gifting her candles to close friends. The gratitude and heartfelt responses she received generated new connections and encouraged her to share her journey more broadly.
With each positive reaction, Luz realised that her creations could bring meaningful light and warmth to others, just as they had for her.
Driven by this purpose, she initiated Luz Candles—a business devoted to offering beauty, hope, and a sense of belonging to people seeking comfort and inspiration. Through every candle, Luz continues to honour her father’s memory, sharing not only the light but also the heartfelt moments that helped her find her way forward.

Luz Candles is a handmade candle business created in 2023 and based in Adelaide, Australia, offering beautifully crafted soy wax candles in a range of distinctive designs and scents.
